About Us

Organization & Performance

ComAp stands for “Comissão de Apadrinhamento”, Committee for International Students in Porto. We are a voluntary group from Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto (ISCAP), formed by young and talented people who work alongside with the International Office at IPP. Each semester we work with more than 15 nationalities from all around the world in order to make their exchange period the best time of their lives.

It all began in 2011 with a simple aim to create an active International Community. The first step was to create a Buddy network, connecting international/Erasmus students with Portuguese ones. Then we moved on to providing funny and memorable activities to our target public, the exchange and international students.

By offering several types of experiences and services, by supporting the students in everything they need and by promoting the portuguese culture and academic traditions, we hope to enhance everyone’s experience in Porto. Moreover, we expect to create lifelong friendships!

ComAp is personally involved to address all the members of the international community in Porto, which in turn creates a long-lasting relationship with everyone that comes across, making it a better experience for all Erasmus in Porto and other kind of International Programs.

“The wellbeing of our International Community is at the heart of all we do.
Yet the enjoyment of our students is why we do it.”

We base our work on 8 principles: Wellbeing, Integrity, Tolerance, Respect, Honesty, Fair dealing, Imagination and Fun. They represent the guidelines for a successful and growing multifaced International Community.

Our staff is bound by the standard behaviour of the Instituto Politécnico do Porto, employees and ComAp principles. Our staff is also bound to respect all cultural and religious practices and local legislation.
